What is NewsMapp?

The website will allow the user to view available news articles by clicking pins on a map. The user will be able to see what news is happening from a map perspective.

The website will be useful for people to see news articles by location from an interactive sense. Local news would be displayed at specific locations. New State legislation would be displayed at the State capitol. The website could be scalable to international news and display articles from countries. The website has the potential to generate many active users. The website will also have a feature where reporters can enter their news article URL and location. Once those details are entered, a pin will be displayed on the map view portion of the site. If the user hovers over the pin, it will display the article title. If the user clicks the pin, it will take them to the news article. The pins will be colored-coded for the type of news. For example, red pins will be used for crime whereas blue pins will be used for politics.
